Connell Brothers Ltd was employed by Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to demolish Stonefield House which was adjoined to Norbury House, Mental Health Ward.

The project involved extensive Asbestos Removal along with both hand and mechanical Demolition works at the live mental health facility. The Midlands NHS Trust wanted to demolish Stonefield House which was adjoined to the live-occupied Norbury House Mental Health Ward.

The demolition site was located in the centre of the hospital and is surrounded by live foot paths, roads and buildings. Due to the Hospital being a live mental health facility, works were sequenced to ensure safety was maintained at all times as patients, staff and visitors can be walking a round the perimeter of the site. Other measures were implemented to mitigate the impact of noise, vibration and dust to the surrounding buildings.
