This December, as part of continued support towards the Barnabus Homeless Charity, Connell Brothers have been assisting with their Christmas Hamper initiative. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Charity that aims to provide life-changing support to people rough sleeping or experiencing homelessness in Manchester.
At the start of the pandemic, Barnabus prepared, cooked & delivered 40,000 meals to people sleeping rough, as well as providing vital mental health support. The Charity continues to help with emergency accommodation, rehabilitation, debt intervention, employment and training, healthcare and a chance of a home through their supported resettlement tenancy scheme.
In 2021, Barnabus has provided 32 people with resettlement tenancies around greater Manchester and they want to bless each of them with a hamper the week before Christmas as a gift. The resettlement workers support people sometimes up to a period of a few years depending on the complexity of their needs to empower them back into independent living in their own tenancies and homes.
The hampers will be packed with Mince pies, Christmas Cake and other festive goodies that will hopefully provide some Christmas spirit over what can be a very challenging period for some people.
